Linguaglossa, Etna and Taormina
Palazzo Previtera is located in Linguaglossa, on the northern side of Etna, 40 km from Catania airport.

ETNA
With its almost 3360 meters high, Etna is the highest active volcano in Europe and has become a symbol of Sicily in the world. In 2013, Etna was included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites for its cultural value and the uniqueness of its landscapes.

ETNA WINE
Etna is not only rich in natural and wild landscapes, but also offers excellent and unique wines. The winemaking tradition of Etna has a very ancient history, which dates back to Greek and Roman civilizations.
Etna wines are produced from native vines such as Nerello Mascalese, Carricante and ancient French vines such as Grenache. The vineyards are built on lava stone terraces to create workable fields with heroic landscapes.
These singular agricultural structures form a belt from north to south of the volcano and are exposed to strong temperature variations. The variety of different microclimates and volcanic soils, made of hardened lava, ash and sand, give the wines a characteristic mix of aromas, colors and smells.

TAORMINA
In just 40 minutes by car from our Palace you will reach Taormina, one of the most beautiful and popular towns in Sicily where you can find authentic Sicilian corners while walking through the colorful alleys of the historic center.
Perched high in the magnificent mountains of Sicily's eastern coast, the majestic town offers breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea and Mount Etna. Once past Porta Messina, Corso Umberto welcomes you with its streets full of medieval buildings and boutiques and artisan workshops.
The main places where Taormina shows itself in all its beauty are Piazza IX Aprile, with its splendid view of the bay of Giardini Naxos and the Teatro Antico, the most fascinating historical monument of the city, framed by the magnificence of the Etna volcano and the blue intense Ionian Sea.

MARINA DI COTTONE and THE TAORMINA COAST
Located near the Fiumefreddo and Fondachello Nature Reserve and bathed by a crystal clear sea, there is the beach of Marina di Cottone, which is about 15 kilometers from our Palace.
The turquoise water can sometimes be very cold thanks to the Fiumefreddo which flows from the snow-capped peaks of the Etna volcano.
A mix of pebbles and sand and a few kilometers of beach backed by eucalyptus forests, this is a lovely place for a relaxing day at the seaside. Just outside the town of Fiumefreddo you will find the Castello degli Schiavi, a jewel of 18th century Sicilian rural baroque, surrounded by lemon and orange groves and the set of "The Godfather".
